Moriah

Moriah is a precious, shepherd mix. She is approximately 9 years old and weighs 54 pounds. She is very sweet and affectionate and has a low-moderate energy level. She always looks like she is smiling and her tail never stops wagging. She is great with kids, other dogs as well as cats.
She was found as a stray in Memphis in the middle of a busy road...a very nice lady stopped to help her and she jumped right into the car. She was pregnant and gave birth to one surviving puppy who has been placed through another rescue. She also tested positive for heartworm and is in the couple of weeks following her Immiticide injections. All of her vetting was generously provided and funded by the amazing couple who found her. They contacted MTGSR to ask if we would accept her into our program and Moriah's story touched our heart so we gladly welcomed her.

ADOPTION: Training (for both the dog and the family) increases the probability of a successful adoption. We feel strongly that training is an essential part of responsible dog ownership and we now require training for every dog placed through the MTGSR program.

Moriah's total adoption cost is $250 which includes the $125 adoption fee (reduced senior dog adoption fee) and a reduced training fee of $125 due at the time of adoption.

For the adoption fee, the dog will be spayed/neutered, current on all vaccinations, current on heartworm/flea-tick preventatives and microchipped.

The training fee will include a plan tailored to that specific dog and that dog's needs (obedience training, behavior modification, etc.) and typically includes three private training sessions.

PLEASE NOTE: Our philosophy is “Rescue locally, place locally” which means we primarily pull dogs from shelters in the Nashville area AND we prefer to place our dogs in homes within a one-hour drive of Nashville. If you are outside of the Nashville area, please consider adopting a homeless dog in your local community.
