Stevia is a sweet, black and tan, female German Shepherd Dog.  She is approximately 6-7 years old and weighs around 65 pounds. She is very sweet, has a low-moderate energy level and is crate-trained and housebroken.
Her front right leg was broken when we accepted her into our program but it was set in a cast and healed perfectly and she has full use of it with no noticeable limp.
We are so grateful for the wonderful vets at Clovercroft Veterinary Hospital (Franklin, TN) for providing such superior vet care and helping this sweet girl achieve a full recovery.
She is good with older kids but is not good with cats. While she does well interacting with other dogs on a social level and with human supervision, she would do best as the only dog in her new home.

ADOPTION: Training (for both the dog and the family) increases the probability of a successful adoption. We feel strongly that training is an essential part of responsible dog ownership and we now require training for every dog placed through the MTGSR program.

The cost of adoption is $500 which includes the $250 adoption fee and a training fee of $250 due at the time of adoption.

For the adoption fee, the dog will be spayed/neutered, current on all vaccinations, current on heartworm/flea-tick preventatives and microchipped.

The training fee will include a plan tailored to that specific dog and that dog's needs (obedience training, behavior modification, etc.).

PLEASE NOTE: Our philosophy is “Rescue locally, place locally” which means we primarily pull dogs from shelters in the Nashville area AND we prefer to place our dogs in homes within a one-hour drive of Nashville. If you are outside of the Nashville area, please consider adopting a homeless dog in your local community.
